You should have your oil changed in your car approximately every 10,000 to 16,000 kilometers, or at least twice a year, but the exact interval depends on your specific vehicle and driving conditions.
You should have your tires changed to winter tires when daily temperatures consistently drop below 7°C, which is typically around mid-to-late October, before the first snowfall. The reverse is true for switching to your all-season tires in the spring, which should be done once temperatures consistently rise above 7°C in April or May.
Fluids should be checked regularly and topped up if running low, its recommended to check your fluid levels at least once a month or before long road trips. If some fluid levels are low it could indicate a leak which can be very dangerous if ignored.
Fluids Checked:
- Washer fluid
- Coolant fluid
- Brake fluid
- Power steering fluid
You should plan to have your car battery changed every 3 to 5 years as a general rule, but the exact lifespan depends on factors like climate, vehicle use, and battery type.
You should have your engine air filter changed every 20,000 to 24,000 kilometers or once a year, whichever comes first. However, the exact frequency depends on your vehicle and driving conditions, so it is best to consult your owner's manual for specific recommendations.
You should have your spark plugs replaced every 50,000 to 160,000 kilometers, depending on the type of plug and your vehicle's make and model.
